Sad. Dad. Dad is Sad.
Yesterday was not a good day for our family. Our precious little Bear had a doctor's appointment to have his legs checked. His pull-a-diagnosis-and-remedy-outta-my-butt did nothing to bolster our hopes for our little guy.
The doctor said after a very brief examination that the Bear should wear leg braces for the rest of his life. He asked if the Bear had been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, which he has not. Even without a proper diagnosis, this doctor wants to sentence our boy to a lifetime of wearing leg braces.
I was at work when DramaMama called me to break the news. She put the Bear on the phone, and I heard some of the most heart wrenching words I have ever heard him say. He said, "I don't want to be a robot!"

Hi Dave,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I pray that your little one will be okay. Life is so difficult. Just know that you have people praying for you.
Also I haven't forgotten about your contest. It's been a crazy busy spring as usual.
And to hope lighten your day a little, we're in a little game of blogger tag and you've been tagged. I know this is a difficult time but check out the tag game on my blog when you can.
Please take care!
Hey there, I am so sorry, First, take a deep breath, Second talk to God, Third, get a second opinion, soon. Then, repeat steps one and two over and over. It works, with what we are going through with our little one, sometimes it is the only thing that works. Hang in there, you will be in my prayers
Hugs,
Stacie
Oh, Dave! What in the world is THAT all about? It really does sound like he pulled that out of a hat.
Get a second opinion. A third, if necessary. Take your little sweetheart to the best doctor you can find. Start researching online.
(((((((HUGS TO ALL OF YOU)))))))
A.I.DuPont Hospital for children; Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (fondly known as CHOP) (Don't worry about money at A.I.)
They have some of the best doctors in the world, can't hurt to at least look them up on the web!

I hope you get a second opinion! Sorry Dave!

Of course I echo the thought that a second, third, etc., opinion is completely in order. Amazing the power and effect that words have on us, especially words such as these and especially when apparently the impact on worried parents was obviously not given full consideration. To choose this approach with parents is simply flabbergasting. You are in my thoughts and prayers, all of you.
...speechless
I know that the Bear will prevail and become a champion of adversity.
Just doing a massive catch up read weekend.
Sorry to hear that , I would definitely get a second ,third and fourth opinion on the Bears legs.
